MILITARY SPECIFICATION
PU<PS, POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT, MAIN/PORT USE,
MAIN BOILER FUEL SERVICE,
NAVAL SHIPBOARD) USE
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Sea Systems
Command and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.
1.
SCOPE
l.l Scope. This specification covers rotary positive displacement fuel service pumps,
including prime movers, for main boiler service on Naval ships.
1.2 Classification.
Pumps shall be of the following styles and classes, as specified
(see 6.2.1):
Style I - Horizontal pumps.
Style II - Vertical pumps.
Class R-1 - Pumps for system gage pressures of 1000 pounds per square inch
nominal.
Class R-2 - Pumps for system, gage pressures of 600
nominal.
Class R-3 - Pumps for system gage pressures of 400
norminal.
